Another of the most popular hen party haunts in The Fair Isle is the Wexford / Harcourt / Camden Street intersection. The edgy, hipster and alternative, music-heavy scene is kicked off by Wexford Streetβs Whelanβs β youβll remember it from P.S. I Love You β and just continues to get better and better. Bursting with huge clubs and unique bars, this area is a perfect alternative to the tourist-heavy Temple Bar.
Geared more towards locals than tourists, this area is packed with music-mad students and young professionals most nights of the week β with 50% of the area being made up for 18-25 year olds. Wexford is the area with the largest population of hipsters (expect bearded men wearing check shirts and thick-rimmed glasses in their masses), where youβll find everything from buskers and singers, to up-and-coming bands and pre-established artists showcasing their finest work
Thereβs also Camden, set down the road from Wexford, where no less than two dozen bars make up the world-renowned strip often referred to as the βCamden Mileβ.
Finally, thereβs Harcourt Street, where one of our favourite hotels in the whole city lies, Harcourt Hotel could it be our favourite because itβs got its own in-house nightclub? There's also Krystle, one of the most glam nightclubs in the whole of Dublin where many a famous face has been spotted over the years.

One of Dublinβs biggest venues (in stature, but smallest in physical size) is Whelanβs. Attracting all ages β seriously, weβre talking 20-somethings to 60-somethings and beyond β itβs the Wexford Street watering hole thatβs had everybody talking for decades. The multiple stages have seen Ed Sheeran, Bloc Party and even Arctic Monkeys perform, as well as friendly local bands and travelling buskers. Whilst music is at its heart, the bar-come-club also has all of the necessary prerequisites for a Dublin space β free flowing booze and charming Irish men.

The inviting, typically Irish and vivid red frontage of Flanneryβs is part of Dublin folklore. Although it may be bright, Flanneryβs facade is relatively unassuming, but step through the doors and youβll be amazed at what you can find. The pub itself has multiple rooms, each with their own loud and brash character. The venue also hosts one of the largest gardens in Dublin (a hidden gem, to those not in the know), as well as a Whiskey and a Vintage bar, with a huge selection of famous Irish brands and lesser known labels to boot.

Bond and Krystle nightclubs rub shoulders with each other under this party roof, but the gem in its crown is Diceyβs Garden β the ultimate all-weather beer garden. 05. Chelsea Drugstore
www.thechelseadrugstore.ie/25 South Great George's Street, Dublin 2
Well known for its long and illustrious history, George Streetβs Arcade in the βCreative Quarterβ was opened in 1876, and has been the site of much Dublin debauchery over the years. The building where the Chelsea Drugstore currently resides was a pharmacy at the turn of the 1900s, where the healing power of cocoa was discovered and sold for its medicinal uses. Nowadays, the bohemian Drugstore is used for a different kind of medicine β glorious alcohol. The massive range of creative, awe-inspiring cocktails will have you picking your jaws (and fellow hens) up off the floor.

08. The Jar
www.thejar.ie/31 Wexford St, Dublin 2
The Wexford Street alternative bar has a fancy menu with lots of craft beers and real ales (pleasing those bearded hipster boys), and plenty of The Jar signature and classic cocktails to choose from. But donβt worry, if your favourite drink isnβt on the menu, just ask one of the expert bar tenders and theyβll mix one up for you, right in front of your eyes. This oneβs slightly on more pricey side, but so worth it in our opinion, for the unique surroundings and premium drinks passing your lips. Go on, splash that hen party kitty in style in The Jar. We personally recommend the Rose Tonic, with Tanqueray gin, rose syrup and other delicious twists, served on the rocks. Take us there now, please?

09. The Bernard Shaw

Bernard Shaw is a quiet, unassuming Irish laddie, but scratch the surface and youβll unearth a hipster paradise round at his place. Widely regarded as the original hipster, this club gives a European vibe, so much so, youβd be forgiven for thinking you were in Amsterdam or Berlin when drinking here. Bernard hosts monthly flea markets, where you can indulge in a spot of vintage retail therapy before all the boozing commences. Thereβs also an iconic double decker bus in the huge beer garden, where you can treat yourself to a delicious feast on the top deck. All aboard.

10. Camden Exchange
www.camdencourthotel.com/en/dublin-camden-street-neighbourhood/the-camden-exchange72-73 Camden Street Lower, Saint Kevin's, Dublin 2
Dublinβs version of North London is summed up in these four walls. This place has been a bank, the set of a TV show, a watchmakerβs studio, and now a cool and confident drinking den. This quirky addition to Camdenβs strip is very in-keeping with the hipster vibe of the area. The former premises of the old National Bank has been projected from formal to quirky and eclectic in recent years β with the venue offering a wide range of cocktails, street food and even an artisan food market. But, the ultimate USP of this bar has to be that itβs so unique, it has its own currency. The currency can be redeemed for offers which run on a weekly basis β check out their social media for more info.
