Best Liverpool Nightlife Areas for a Hen Do

You're spoilt for choice when it comes to nightlife areas in Liverpool. You can head to the stylish Ropewalks area, that boasts Concert Square, one of the most buzzing drinking areas in the UK, or you could hit up the classy waterfront bars on Albert Dock or visit cheap and cheerful Mathew Street where The Beatles rose to fame.

    Cavern Quarter

    The Cavern Quarter is mostly known for the Cavern Club, which is where The Beatles shot to fame. It’s a great place to catch a gig, before getting a drink at one of the many pubs clustered all around. The Cavern Quarter is home to Mathew Street that’s a real party area and is super popular with hen and stag parties. This neon-tastic area, rich with musical history will have you singing “here comes the hen party (do do do do)” …

    If you fancy something a bit more modern, then you can check out the Ropewalks, which has been described as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the UK. It’s home to Liverpool’s Chinatown, St Luke’s church (famously known as the bombed-out church) and is bursting with amazing quirky bars, such as Salt Dog Slims which is known for world beers, great cocktails and tasty hot dogs.

    Concert Square

    Concert Square is located in the middle of Ropewalks. This large outdoor terrace is the ultimate place to drink, dine and dance. With the bars and restaurants open till 8am till 4am (some are even 6am!), this is where the party is at. It's home to some of Liverpool’s biggest clubs such as Modo, for bright lights and banging tunes, and Fusion for fans of R & B and dancing till 6am!

    Albert Dock

    For a fancy start to the evening, head to the Peacock Bar which is just a 9-minute walk from the main station. You can get classic cocktails, such as Cosmopolitan and Mojito, and signatures such as Vegas Fire, made with rhubarb vodka! It doesn’t just serve cocktails, it also has an Artisan pizza oven, we did say it was fancy. You can get cheekily named pizzas such as “sausage party” and “missionary with the lights off”. It has neon lights (a classic for insta), outdoor seating (so you can enjoy the warm weather if you’re lucky) and fab deals on cocktails that run all week. A whole host of reasons why the hens would go flocking to the Peacock!

    Prepare to be bowled over by our next choice of venue. Pins, which is just an 8 minutes’ walk from the Royal Albert Dock, is so much more than a bowling alley. You can have a fab time playing 10 pin bowling, but also there is also table tennis, pool, big TVs, an amazing bar, outdoor seating, awesome tasty food (think great quality burgers and pizza) and big comfy sofas, great for making new friends. They even do a Sunday roast, so you can come back the next day for the perfect hangover cure. It becomes an 18+ venue after 6pm and a 21+ venue after 9pm, which is handy to know if you’ve got any 18–20 year olds with the hen party. If you’re into wholesome fun, then Pins will be right up your alley!

    Spread over three floors, this chic Japanese-inspired restaurant and bar is proving to be very popular with hen parties. It’s easy to see why with its striking décor, fab DJs and exciting menu. That’s not to mention their urban-garden roof terrace, which is the perfect place to grab a cocktail and chill out. They do themed bottomless brunches on Fridays and Saturdays, both events have live entertainment. This place is super instagrammable and boasts a range of exotic cocktails including Raspberry & Rose Margarita and Pineapple Spice. You’ll find this exciting hangout in the iconic Liverpool One shopping centre right in the heart of the city.

With awesome drinks and a totally instagrammable interior, it’s certainly très bien!

This awesome venue, located in the Ropewalks area, comes complete with a cocktail bar, an outdoor courtyard and an underground club.

    Now who’s up for going to a classy tavern? Located on James Street, this gastro pub is a perfect place to relax and unwind with a cocktail (many other drink choices available) and some amazing food, such as Steak and Chips or Katsu Chicken curry. The old bank is incredibly tastefully decorated with chandeliers and an ornate ceiling. As the name suggests, The Old Bank used to be a fully functioning bank, making the venue so unique and aesthetically pleasing, with its high ceiling and pillars. You can ‘bank’ on it being a good time.

Downstairs, you have the club room and upstairs you have Paradiso, a forest themed lounge. Modo is known for its great drinks. On both levels you have an extensive cocktail menu. Modo has been a staple in a Liverpool night out for over 25 years.

This Cuban-inspired bar, situated right next to the gorgeous Albert’s Dock, is the perfect place for rum lovers. Set over two floors, you can get delicious tapas, such as pork belly skewers and patatas bravas, and Cuban cocktails (with rum heavily featured as the spirit). Upstairs you have an exclusive rum bar where you can try a range of rums, including a 12-year-old rum. They also have outdoor seating, so you can sun yourself, if Liverpool’s weather has been kind to you. With Revolucion De Cuba, one thing’s for sure, you’ll be ‘Havana’ good time!

They’re particularly known for doing bottomless brunches, so it’s a great place to start the day.
