Hen's Nightlife Guide to the Diamond Strip
Top Reasons to Visit the Diamond Strip |
---|
| Bars - The most popular nightlife zone in the city is home to a whole host of opulent bars and clubs – most recognisable from MTV’s Geordie Shore. |
| Restaurants - The street dedicated to drinking still recognises the need to line your stomachs – with Revolution, Coop Chicken and The Continental among the restaurants in the area. |
| Music - These clubs blast chart topping bangers ‘til the early hours, with national and international DJs performing their sets. |
| Shopping - Trust us, when you’re partying here, shopping will be the last thing on your minds. |
| Art - The time, effort and skill that goes into a Diamond Strip girl’s hair and make-up before a big night, is more Picasso ever put in. |
Synonymous with the crowd from MTV’s Geordie Shore, the aptly named Diamond Strip is home to the exclusive, A-list crowd. Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Michelle Keegan have all been seen around these parts…
Just along from Central Station, and well within walking distance of other nightlife districts, this is the city’s trendiest area – brimming with decadent and extravagant bars. As soon as you set foot on the diamond encrusted pavements (not really), you will have (literally) stepped onto the set of Geordie Shore – with muscle-bound blokes and lasses with nee coats roaming the streets.
You can get entry to a ton of these great bars, from Flares to Revolution to Howlers with our brilliant value Newcastle Nightlife Wristband that gets you in to 10+ bars and clubs in total.
Become a Geordie Shore extra on your hen weekend, with a trip down the famous Diamond Strip.

Cash Machines
The Diamond Strip itself doesn’t really do ATMs (it’s far too posh for that) – but there are several in surrounding areas such as the Bigg Market and Grainger Street.
Taxis
There’s a taxi rank right in the middle of The Diamond Strip, as well as another just along from Central Station. The adjoining The Bigg Market also has its own designated taxi rank, should The Diamond Strip queues be too long.
Takeaways
No Geordie Shore night out ends without one of the group’s heads in a box of cheesy chips or pizza – and neither will your hen night. Although it’s a classy district, it’s still littered with fast food joints to indulge in. There’s even a Subway actually on The Diamond Strip – a welcome sight at 2am after several Revs vodka chains.
If The Diamond Strip sounds like your sort of night oot, have a look on our Newcastle hen weekends page to see what we can organise for you.
*We know the Diamond Strip better than Charlotte and Gaz themselves, and all info in this guide was correct at the time of publishing. Probably.
