Cash Machines
Those affluent Jesmond students need multiple pit stops to withdraw their alcohol tokens from – and with three cash machines within a five minute walk of Osborne Road, Jesmond is the district to deliver. Tesco Metro on Acorn Road is closest to the main strip, then there’s a Barclays cash point, and a little further out, there’s a Waitrose ATM on Osborne Road itself.
Taxis
Although Jesmond is a suburb of Newcastle, it couldn’t be easier to get to from the city centre. Jesmond Metro takes you right into the heart of the nightlife zone in three minutes, with all bars and restaurants well within walking distance – even in those stilettos, we promise. But, if the idea of manoeuvring the Metro to get to districts such as The Bigg Market and The Diamond Strip, after making the most of those Happy Hour cocktails doesn’t sound like fun, a taxi will take you there for as little as £6.
Takeaways
You’ve got to soak up all that Happy Hour booze somehow – and there’s no better way than with a take away. Loved by all, Osborne Pizza is located in central Jesmond, as is Acorn Chinese Takeaway, and, of course, there’s A Taste of Persia, Scalini’s and other cool restaurants surrounding the main strip.
We can only assume that after our in-depth guide to Jesmond’s best hen party bars, you’re ready to celebrate in the suave suburb. Why not create your own bespoke Newcastle hen party, and leave everything else to us.
