LNOF Try

Four hair-raising activities in one day?! Team LNOF couldn’t let our stag and hen groups have all the fun ;)

Bristol, Sept 2024

Just 15 minutes from the centre of Bristol, Max Events is an awesome activity centre that hosts over 10 adrenaline pumping activities. Team LNOF tried four: .

Action packed day!

Ready for some heart pumping adventure, we donned our flattering blue and yellow overalls. Splitting off into smaller groups for the first activities of the day, we headed across the centre to the activity areas, eager to jump right in.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Ready, Aim, FIRE!

The first activity for the girls, we were a little anxious at the idea of handling a real shotgun, but by the end we all felt at ease and even shot at least two clays each! Pretty impressive for some, considering it was our first go at it. It did have us reeling at the recoil though!

Girls and their guns

Clays came from three different angles, testing our aim and skill. The boys did this second, and as more experienced shooters they managed to hit quite a bit more. The instructor was on hand to ensure we handled the guns safely and to give guidance on improving our shot. Drew hit the most, with 14 clays under his belt! Mag-nificent!

Rage Buggies

Three men in jumpsuits and helmets listening to an instructor in front of rage buggies.
Listening intensely

Jumping into the cage of the rage buggies, the boys group set off first. Engines revving to life; they were off! A few laps around the 600m dirt, or rather mud, track and we all got the hang of it. Puddles, mounds, dips and tight corners created the difficult trail, we felt every bump and probably swallowed the most muddy water we ever have in our lives. Catering to our competitive spirts, the instructor set up a time trial race. Below 60 seconds was the time to beat which was smashed by Kat and Matt! Covered in water and mud we definitely knew why they called them ‘rage’ buggies.

Quad Bikes

A group of people gathered around a quad bike as an instructor talks them through the health an safety of driving one.
Safety first

With the team reunited, we made our way to the custom-built quad biking track, a rabbit warren of tracks spread over 10,000 square metres. Our instructor talked us through how to control the bikes, and to a lot of our relief, they were automatic. We couldn’t imagine navigating gear changes as well and sharp turns. Testing the acceleration, every single person lurched forward slightly as we didn’t realise just how much power the quads bikes had.

Left everyone else in the mud

Feeling very bump, dip, hill and puddle, we trailed through the difficult terrain with varied skill. Some of us got stuck in the mud a few times and had to be rescued but others were in their element! The last group even got to ride the quads back to base before the last activity of the day.

Assault Rifle Shooting

Two photos of assault rifle shooting, one or a women aiming a gun towards and shooting range and one of an array of guns on a table.
The infamous 'Stump of Shame' is cropped out

An array of guns were laid on a table in front of a shooting range ready for us to show off our skills, including AR15s, MP5s, H&K 416s and .22 assault rifles. We each took turns on different guns to get some practice shots in before a mini competition. The shooting range had lots of different targets. Neon groundhogs, skulls, zombies, spinning targets, and paper targets filled a made for purpose shooting range. Billie and Hannah were too short to even see the targets, so the instructor brought out the ‘Stump of Shame’; an old block of wood for them to stand on. Some of us were naturals when it came to the competition! Christie in particular was so quick. We even got to keep the paper targets as trophies.

Pedal to the Metal!

Aching bodies and smiles all around, we would highly recommend Max Events if you are having a stag or hen do in Bristol. Team LNOF’s top tip is to do multiple activities in one day to make the most of this amazing centre!
