Old Town
Pragueβs Old Town is the centre of the city β in more ways than one. The buildings are big, the clubs even bigger and the drinks are cheap. The staggering amount of bars in one of Europeβs busiest drinking districts are enough to fill up 30 weekendsβ¦ it takes one just to explore Karlovy Lazne. This is the largest club in Europe, a five-storey mega venue in a 15th century building. The main floor is in a disused swimming pool and has an Oxygen bar, but youβve also got a 50s and 70s Oldies room, Hip Hop level and Chill Out room on the top floor. Or, cool down (literally) in the Ice Pub; where the walls, bar, tables, sculptures and even glasses are made of ice.
Speaking of megaclubs, Zlaty Strom is a legend on the mean streets of Pragueβs Old Town. This Gothic underground music venue is a maze of club rooms, lounges and even a pole dancing bar β closing just in time for bed at 6am. Pragueβs resident Tiki stag do paradise, Aloha, found on a side street of the Old Town, is a hidden gem. With regular dancers in bikinis, live DJs, fire breathers and drinks in totem-pole style vessels. Itβs boozy, decadent and unforgettable.
Weβre not finished with this area yetβ¦ KU Bar is one of Pragueβs smartest options. Itβs home to some of the cityβs most popular club nights, world-famous shooters, first-class DJs, house, commercial, punk, rock, R&B β and itβs got the capitalβs trendiest crowd. M1 Lounge is also dedicated to music, with an impressive team of DJs attracting the likes of Kanye West, Matt Damon, Elijah Wood and even Coolioβ¦ to its industrial den. Roxy Club is another warehouse venue, and more hardcore than all of Pragueβs clubs put together. However,One Club gives it a major run for its money β boasting DJs such as Afrojack in its underground nightclub. After all of that, pour your own pints at The Pub β with huge tables featuring beer taps in the centre. We told you Prague is wildβ¦
New Town
Wenceslas Square, one of the two landmark squares in the city, is the ever so slightly younger and crazier brother of Old Town. It might be labelled new, but the area was originally laid out in 1348. This is a tight-knit drinking district of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Youβll also find the capitalβs biggest concentration of strip clubs in Wenceslas Square β we imagine this is where youβll spend most of your stag weekend hours (and koruna).
Duplex is exactly what youβd expectβ¦ a duplex. Thereβs a restaurant on one floor and one of Pragueβs most exclusive clubs on another. The glass cube building, awarded membership to The Worldβs Finest Clubs website, is famous in the city, popular with international celebrities. Soak up the views of the city (and the dancers) and rub shoulders with the international elite. On the opposite end of the spectrum, youβve got Lucerna Music Bar. This cavernous music venue is set underground, hosting popular gig nights during the week, transforming into Pragueβs best 80s and 90s nightclub on the weekend. Nebe Wenceslas Square, spread over two gigantic floors, is a large space where youβll bump into fellow stag and hen groups. Itβs open until 5am, also has 80s/90s/00s cranked up and people dancing on the tables. New Town is renowned for beer and breweries, particularly U Fleku. This is the Cezch capitalβs most famous brewery, brewing for over 500 years, and boasts a beer garden with a capacity of 1200. If you just relax, or get a hair of the dog from one of the many shots going round, this is a pilgrimage for beer lovers in the group.
Strip Clubs
Now, onto the stag do essentials. As mentioned earlier, New Town is brimming with strip clubs. Itβs, unofficially, Pragueβs βRed Light Districtβ β boasting a bevy of beautiful Czech girls. Goldfingers is one of the most recognised spots in Wenceslas Square, set in a former theatre. Itβs a lot more luxurious than youβd imagine and, as well as stripteases and lap dancing, expect classic cabaret, Can Can and Moulin Rouge-style acts, jelly wrestling, body eating and special stag stitch ups.
Hot Peppers is another club youβll become familiar with on your stag weekendβ¦ Itβs emphasis is on champagne and girls, and you can taste the high life at the VIP Champagne Lounge β with Grande Marques, Cristal, Veuve Clicquot, MoΓ«t et Chandon, Dom PΓ©rignon and Krug available. The shows are themed, but youβll get the classics; lesbian acts, exotic dancers, Can Can β you know the drill.
After all of that, we reckon youβll be itching to book β and you can on our Prague Stag Weekends page. Get some handy tips, ideas and inspiration from our in-depth Stag Do Guide to Prague. Not that you need persuadingβ¦
As of 2024... you might want to check out the new rules for bar crawls in Prague, but donβt worry it shouldnβt affect much.
